Being half-Korean, I grew up eating Korean food. I am very picky about the kind of food that I like. I do not like cabbage (no kimchi for me) and quite a few other vegetables. Though I do love good Korean bbq.
We just recently moved to Bellevue and down the street from our new place is a Korean restaurant called 궁 (Gung and pronounced "Goong") which is Korean for "Palace." If you search for it online and you are English speaking, it is called Palace, not Gung. My fiancee wanted chicken and white rice, so I suggested Korean bbq. We went in and even though she initially wanted chicken, she quickly changed to 불고기 (bul go gi or bbq beef). The price seemed a little high initially, but when we received our food, we were not disappointed. We had, and combined with all the appetizers, enough food for two, easily.
For those of you who want to have a more authentic experience, this place has a grill at each table for cooking the meat. Customers don't cook this however, it is cooked by one of the servers. In order to do this, I would recommend bringing in a fairly large party as the amount of food that is offered is more than a couple can eat. While we were there, we saw people eating the table barbecue and it was a lot of food. The prices would also indicate that it is a lot of food.
If you are in the Bellevue, Tacoma, or Federal Way areas (the owner has three restaurants), I would recommend checking this place out if you like Asian food.
