New XBox Arcade is cheaper but doesn't beat Wii

So I heard recently that the cheaper price for the Xbox Arcade mini console is supposed to make it better than the Wii. The Wii is still $250 and the Xbox Arcade is going to be $200 for the holiday season. Sorry but no. It comes with no hard drive, so even if you are saving a big 50 bucks, you'll end up spending 100 to get a hard drive, that is if you want to save any progress in your games!

On the Wii you can download any Nintendo game ever created for between 5-15 bucks. Pretty sure Xbox games are around 30-50 and holding. Don't listen when they say you will save money, fork out the cash for a real Xbox or pick up a Wii.

The XBox 360 Arcade version comes with a 256 MB memory card which is plenty of memory to save your game progress for an entire game library. The one thing you lack is the memory to save entire games that you download. If you are looking purely for a gaming console, it is an awesome deal. If you are looking for the full media experience, you might want the edition with the hard drive. And downloadable games on the 360 only cost around 5 to 15 dollars, same as the Wii. Newly released games for the 360 are usually $60, sometimes lower depending on the publisher. Wii games are usually $50. All in all, the newly priced 360 is a great deal. Buy the 360. You can always get a hard drive if needed. You buy the Wii and you're stuck with standard definition picture and a whopping 512 MB of system memory that is only upgradeable in small increments via memory card. Seems the 360 beats the Wii.

Sorry Booboo, I have both systems and the 360 is way better than the Wii. Buy a 360 at whatever price you can get it in whatever version you can find it. Don't buy a Wii unless you are under 12-years-old or over 50.

My daughter loves her Wii, I think it's better for kids since they are actually moving for most of the games. I am hoping she stays uninterest in those more expensive consoles for a little while longer!
