Supporting Evidence

I went to McCorkmick & Schmick's on Sunday to watch the Seahawks game with my boyfriend and we had a fantastic time. The decor was really upscale for Pioneer Square with dark wood details and marble railings. What my boyfriend noticed were the two huge projection screens and tons of flat screens placed all around the bar. We got there during the second quarter of the game and the place was deserted, so he immediately grabbed us a spot behind one of the projectors.

They have an oyster menu, which was totally unexpected. We decided since we were going to stay for the Seahawks and Cowboys games we should probably start at the top of the menu and make our way down, with a half dozen of each kind with every round of drinks.

Just as the Seahawks game let out we needed to run back to my boyfriends office across the street from Qwest Field. We told the waitress and she was cool enough to not let any of the drunks coming out of the game snag it until we came back.

The oysters were amazing, we also tried their Oyster Rockefeller and that was beyond amazing. The Bloody Mary I had was alright and was made up for by the extensive list of beers they had on tap. At one point during the Cowboy game there was a fight outside and that was exciting, but it made me realize that the restaurant seemed totally out of place in Pioneer Square.

I would not say this is necessarily a case to go there at any time; I'm not sure that I would go back any day but game day. I could see the area being a lot worse on a weekday and there are a lot of nicer places to get oysters and beer from in Seattle. But if you want to watch the game and experience some Seahawk madness afterwards along with oysters and beer, this is the perfect place to go.

I think there are a couple locations in Seattle and Bellevue. They have a good seafood menu but I don't think the atmosphere of a chain place is ever as good a mom and pop place.
