Supporting Evidence

I am trying to redecorate my living room to make it look a little more contemporary. I went to Home Depot on Tuesday to pick up some of the bracketless shelves that just stick out of the wall to replace my old bookshelf. The first location I went to was in Redmond and they are the store I now have a problem with.

I found the selves myself in store, which was tough considering the place is massive. I also matched up the model # to the stock they had. I was in luck! The shelves I had found online for $43 were on sale for $25. I started to grab the boxes but there were only 2 in the stain I wanted, esspresso. I searched for a few minutes and found a sales guy to help me find out if there were any more left in the back. I showed him the ones I wanted and he said they didn't have them in back but he would check the surrounding stores.

He came back and said they had 6 at the Everett store. I only needed 4 and work in Everett, so it wasn't inconvenient for me to grab them Wednesday. I asked him if they would also be on sale at the Everett store and he said they should be and that the stores are usually consistant with their sale items. I went to the Everett store Thursday after work because I couldn't go on Wednesday. Well they had the shelves, only they were $43! I found a sales guy and asked why they weren't on sale like at the store 20 miles from there. He said those shelves definitely would not be on sale because they only time Home Depot puts stuff on sale is if it is damaged or discontinued. He didn't offer to honor the price or even call the other store to check why the others were marked on sale.

I called the Redmond Home Depot on my cell to get the truth and possibly grab a manager if they should've been on sale. The person that picked up was very rude. I read her the code on the shelves to check if they were on sale and she said no they were $43. ?!?!?!?!?!? I told her they were mismarked in the store and they should have someone fix that as it is quite misleading. She sarcastically said she would do that. Whatever Home Depot! I bought the shelves only because I was angry and confused but I will not be back, next time I'm going to Lowe's!

I would have at least asked them to call the other store for me. Bad customer service!

I never go to Home Depot. The employee's there are like cockroaches, they scatter the second you step foot in the store. I usually get sooo frustrated with the employees at any Home Depot b/c it seams that they hate their job and have about the same IQ as our President. Lowes is definitely a better place to go.
