No gold star for Gold's

Gold's Gym claims to be one of the largest gyms in the world, having over 600 locations in 25 countries. Because the gym is located everywhere, as a member you have access to all those gyms making travel and even moving convenient. But when you actually notice the fine print in your contract, you really can't transfer your membership. You are stuck in whatever state or county you signed up in. No transfers allowed.

I moved from Utah to Washington just recently and was pretty disappointed when I found out it wouldn't transfer. I ended up paying a cancellation fee of my 2 year contract. It was $100 and no one at Gold's was very helpful. It was really irritating and since I have been in Washington, I cringe everytime I see a Gold's gym sign.

Don't sign up there, you sign your life away.
