Occasionally a few friends and I will head up to the Canterbury on Capitol Hill to shoot some pool and it has always treated us well. Usually, I dread even the thought of going to Capitol Hill because of the nightmare known as parking. However, the Canterbury is located miles away from the main drag and parking is usually no issue at all. The area is calm and generally this place is too, mainly because it is such a large establishment. There are four separate rooms which break up where people linger - dining, bar, billiards, and another room connected to the billiards area. Even if there is a lot of people here, it never really feels like it, which is great.

As far as food goes I think I've only had the nachos, but thats because they are so good I can't get myself to order anything else. The pool tables are good and usually there is no issue during the week getting a table to yourself for a few hours. They've also got a great jukebox and the music is not overpowering your conversation like many other places.

Overall this is a pretty casual place that is probably best constituted as a dive bar, and that's just the way I like it, especially when shooting some pool with friends.
