I took my wife to Canlis over the weekend. It was her first time there, my third. I have eaten at many restaurants through the US and this is by far my favorite. There is a warm and friendly atmosphere, but with the view and lighting it is also romantic. I have had the privilege of meeting two of the owners of the restaurant and am impressed by their kindness and treatment of restaurant patrons.Saturday evening, we were graciously met at the door and promptly seated next to one another at a table facing directly onto Lake Union.
The food was the best I have ever had. We first had the Braised Beef Short Rib and were amazed at the tenderness and flavor of the meat. The Canlis Salad followed. For our main course, my wife ordered the Muscovy Duck Breast and I, the Wagyu Tenderloin. I have never had a better steak. Even my wife, who is not a steak fan, loved it. The duck was also delicious and thoroughly enjoyed. Dessert was the Chocolate Lava Cake and Apple Tarte Tatin. The tarte tatin was the best apple based dessert I have had and my wife enjoyed the lava cake.
Throughout the evening, we were treated with respect and courtesy and felt as if every person there was anxious to see us leave happy and filled, which we did.
I would like to thank the Canlis family for providing such an exceptional establishment to the Northwest. I will continue to attend your restaurant hungry and anticipating only the best and suggest to any who have not yet visited Canlis to do the same.

I've lived in Seattle for 5 years and I still haven't checked this place out. I've been dying to find a decent excuse and this review might just push over the edge. Great case!
