Supporting Evidence
About six months ago I took my car to Advanced Auto Body in Kenmore, WA, as a last resort for a check engine light. The car was acting a little crazy, so I wanted to make sure that I got it someplace sooner than later.I was hoping that the folksy demeanor I was met with would be matched by the pricing scale. After all, I was pleased with the timeliness that they were able to accept my car on such short notice. They kept it for about 2 or so days, and when I spoke with the lead mechanic, told me it would be about $600 to fix properly.
I'm sure that the car was $600 worth of damage to fix, but it started out at $1200, and I had to negotiate the price down because it was clear they were trying to sell me more "maintenance." Worst yet, they continue to send me flyers and post cards about their "unbeatable service" and competitive pricing. I probably get a card once a month. Never again.
