While visiting Dallas I was having Mexican food cravings, like bad cravings, like needing salsa and chips and beans bad. To my luck my boyfriends family decided we could go to Manny's Uptown Texmex Restaurant before the Scaregrounds. I figured being closer to the Mexican border than Washington would provide for better Mexican food, (I think the closeness also attributed to my cravings), and I was right. The chips and salsa were amazing, we also had a little Chili con Queso with them and it was alright. I'm not a huge melted cheese person, always reminds me of Velveeta, and I have never been a ground meat person. I guess I was a little prejudice against the stuff because everyone else loved it and scraped the platter till it was empty.
The entrees were great though. I shared with my boyfriend the 3 enchilada's. The server did not mind having 1 of the 3 have spinach and no meat. On the enchiladas you can switch out enchilada sauce for cheese sauce or creamy mushroom sauce. We got the creamy mushroom and it created a really interesting flavor; not often would I think to mix cream with Mexican and it worked, well. They did not have vegetarian beans, but it was after all Texas and the rice and beans it came with were not all that bad.
If you are ever in the Dallas or Addison area, (they have a location in Addison, TX too), try them out. They're not very expensive and it looked like they get a really busy bar at night.

That's too bad, they shoud offer vegetarian options everywhere. Aside from that it seems like a good TexMex place.
